September 2, 2012
The newly created series within a series, the 2012 Senoia Raceway Jewel Series, will run it’s Diamond Race this Saturday, September 8th when the 3/8ths mile clay speed bowl returns to racing action. The special three night series has created some twists to the seasonal points chase and will more than likely crown different competitors than will end up being honored as overall season point’s winners.
The double feature format will once again highlight the Jewel Series racing action on Saturday. Tqin 20′s for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models. Two fifteen lap main events for the Newnan Bonding B Cadets and Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks. A pair of ten lap feature races for the Mini Stocks and Bombers. Both races will pay a purse and both races will award points counted towards the Jewel Series standings, as well as, a drivers overall season tally.
“This weekend could very well move you into position to finish among the top ten at the end of the season or get pushed out,” said track promoter Tim Moses. “If you want to finish in the money and awards positions, you will not want to miss the final double feature race of the season.”
“The fans get more value as well,” added Moses. “You get two feature races for each division and we do not change the prices of the tickets.”
The pit gates open on Saturday at 5pm. Grandstands at 6pm. Hot laps will roll off at 7:30pm. Racing cranks up at 8pm.
Ticket prices are $12 for adults; $5 for kids 6-12; Five & Under are free. Trackside parking is available and tailgating is permitted (and highly encouraged at trackside).
