EXTRA MONEY UP FOR GRABS
Senoia Raceway has created a couple of opportunities for competitors to cash in on some extra prize money! Late Model competitors can win up to an additional $200 per race night, while the Hobby Stock drivers can snatch up the extra money up for grabs at the Summer Sizzler and earn a bonus for competing in back to back weeks.
Thanks to STO, the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Model qualifier can make the choice of rolling the invert dice and taking a chance on being inverted deeper into the field or starting straight up from the two lap qualifying results. STO and Senoia Raceway will now offer the fastest qualifier a $200 bonus if they roll the dice to decide the invert. If the driver decides not to take a chance on the dice roll, the field will line up according the qualifying results and the top four finishers, not including the fastest qualifier, will each receive a $50 bonus to thier nightly winnings.
The dice roll would determine the number of cars inverted from the qualifying results. The top qualifier has a 33% chance of starting the race on the front row, second row or third row and pocketing the extra $200. The number rolled would be the number of cars inverted.
Tod Darda has rolled a four twice this season which results in his starting position moving from the first row to the second row. On the flip side of that is the fact that Joe Armistead, Jr., was the fast qualifier earlier in May and rolled a one creating no change to the starting line-up.
“It is still a dice roll,” said promoter Tim Moses. “Sometimes your luck is better than other times. At least now, thanks to sponsor STO, the guys can pocket a little extra dough and take a chance or create a little extra money for some others chasing him at the start of the feature.”
In the Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks, drivers will be chasing the additional prize money up for grabs during the June 23rd Summer Sizzler, but they will also have the opportunity to cash in on some added bonus money offered to those who compete at both the June 16th and June 23rd events. The top four finishers at the Summer Sizzler that also competed at Senoia Raceway on June 16th will receive a $50 bonus on top of their winnings for the 30-lap special event.
“I want to support the drivers that support the track,” said Moses. “Now they can come out and get warmed up for the special event and get some extra money for their race team. I also decided not to charge an entry fee for the Summer Sizzler Hobby Stock special.”
