LEGENDS CARS RETURN TO SENOIA RACEWAY ON MARCH 17

SENOIA, GA : For the first time in over a year the gumbo clay surface of Senoia Raceway will see the Legend Cars return to the 3/8th-mile bullring on March 17th as a new monthly series.  Under the leadership of Joey Clanton and his son, also a legend car racer Christopher, they are working with the race track to bring legend cars back to the dirt scene in Georgia.

Legend cars last competed full-time at Senoia Raceway in 2015 when Jason Treschl claimed the season-long track championship.  Treschl has since moved on to compete at Atlanta Motor Speedway where he has picked up wins on the asphalt track as well.

The race format for the first race of the 2018 season on Saturday, March 17th will feature all classes combined into one 20-lap feature race.  With currently 18 drivers committed to attending the magic number of 20 cars is within reach.  If 20 cars are in attendance on race day the winner will receive $500.  Drivers are currently coming from as far as Ohio next weekend to take on the challenge of the gumbo clay racing surface.

The plan is to run once monthly throughout the season and future race dates will be announced by the Clantons as they become official.  Fans and drivers can also “Like” the series on Facebook at Dirt Legends GA.

Senoia Raceway opened up the 2018 season with Christopher Clanton’s uncle and former Craftsman World of Outlaws champion Shane Clanton in victory lane after a he took the lead away from hometown hero Bubba Pollard on Saturday, March 3rd.
