(Senoia, GA – July 21, 2013)  The late arriving shower forced Senoia Raceway to postpone the Newnan Bonding B Cadet 30-lap special and the main event for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models to this Saturday, July 27th.  This creates a night of double features for these divisions, heats and features for the classes that were able to complete racing and the 3rd annual Waterless Boat Race all on the same event ticket.

“It will be a full night of racing,” said promoter Tim Moses.  “Double mains for the B Cadets and the Late Models, plus the other classes and the boat race.  Plus, I am not raising the ticket prices.  The fans are going to get a whale of a show!”

Some of the races were completed Saturday night.  Roopville’s Clifton ‘Hog Head’ Moran held off Tyrone’s Jamie Simmons for this 51st career victory in the Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks.  Simmons worked the veteran Moran for the entire length of the 20-lap feature, but could not overtake the track’s winningest driver.  Franklin’s Gary Brand was third.

Barnesville’s Gary Parker used a late race restart in the Mini Stocks to shoot past rookie driver Alex Rudolph of Griffin.  Rudolph looked to be on his way to a career first win when a caution bunched the field.  Parker used his experience to steal away the lead and then cruised to his second checkered flag of the season.  Points leader Bobby ‘Wild Child’ Arnold of Newnan finished second ahead of Newnan’s Brandon Libir, Rudolph and Bo Chambers of Griffin.

Villa Rica’s Todd Brewster led every lap of the Modified Mini main to snare the win while Newnan’s Michael Nelms topped the rain-shortened Bomber feature.

Cataula’s Joseph Brown topped the Newnan Bonding B Cadet qualifying round.  Brown bested Lafayette, Alabama’s Marc Gooden to secure the pole position for the 30-lap, $1000 to win feature.  Nineteen cars will line-up this Saturday, July 27th for the postponed event.

Newnan’s Rucker Orr was the fastest qualifier for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models.  Making his first appearance of the season, Orr was seven thousandths of a second quicker than current division points leader Glenn Morris of Fayetteville.  The Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models will make up this week’s feature and run another for next Saturday’s points creating a twin 20 schedule for the high speed rockets.

This Saturday’s special event also features the hilarious Waterless Boat Race.  Competitors will attach boats (without trailers) to their vehicles and try to knock each other’s boats off.  The object of the special event is to be the last person with your boat still attached to your vehicle.  A dozen competitors are currently registered for the race.

“It is total boat destruction,” said Moses. “We have a jet ski, paddle boat and plenty of old speed boats ready for battle.  It is one of the more fun events we do each year.  The fans, especially the kids, love it.  I think the other drivers like it too.”

There will be a full night of racing with the make-up features from this past Saturday and the weekly program for July 27th.  The night will culminate with the running of the 3rd Annual Waterless Boat race.

Pit passes and grandstand ticket prices remain the same for this special night.  Grandstand tickets are $12; children ages 6-12 are $5 while five and under admitted for free.  Pit passes are $25 for adults and $12 for children three through twelve.  Trackside parking is available on a first come, first serve basis and includes admission into the pit area.

The pit gates open at 5pm.  Grandstands open at 6pm.  Hot laps will roll off at 7:30pm and the first green flag flies at 8pm.
