SENOIA SUMMER NATIONALS III – WINGED SPRINT CARS

Atlanta, GA – August 13, 2012 – Wild and exciting winged outlaw style sprint car racing will headline the two-day USCS Senoia Summer Nationals III (2012) racing program at Senoia Raceway on Friday and Saturday night, August 17th and 18th. The United Sprint Car Series presented by Goodyear “Outlaw Thunder” Tour www.uscsracing.com roars into the high-banked 3/8-mile red clay oval for the 3rd Annual “USCS Senoia Summer Nationals”.

This event is race number twenty-two and twenty-three on the 16th Anniversary schedule for the Nationally touring USCS drivers.This is the one and only visit scheduled for the 2012 season for the USCS winged sprint cars to Senoia Raceway. These races will award National points as well as USCS Southern Thunder Tour regional series standings. The USCS Southern Thunder regional series consists of races in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Eastern Tennessee and both Carolinas. The two-night special event is expected to bring top winged outlaw sprint car drivers from at least six states to the track. The exotic fire breathing, alcohol burning, 700 horsepower open wheel cars weight just 1,300 pounds, and are pound for pound the World’s most powerful short track race cars. The cars will literally fly around the track surface at speeds over 130 M.P.H. It is not uncommon to see USCS sprint cars popping “wheelies” or doing wheel stands because of the brute force of their engines and their huge 18-inch wide rear tires.
Friday night’s Outlaw sprint car action will feature a full program of racing in the outlaw sprint cars that includes test and tune hot laps followed by the evening’s first sprint car race, the Goodyear Speed Dash that showcases the top six cars from the previous USCS main event in an edge-of-your-seat six-car shootout. Next up will be qualifying heat races and a Last Chance/B-Main race. The evening’s finale will be the USCS Sprint Car A-main event. The USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints, that have been enjoying a successful second season, join the USCS Outlaw Thunder division to create a USCS double-header both nights. Drivers from at least six states are entered in that division as well.

Three of Senoia Raceway’s weekly racing divisions are on the first night’s program as well. Those include the popular Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models racing in the Senoia Summer Nationals III Late Model Challenge plus the B–Cadet, Hobby divisions. Extra money is up for grabs in those divisions with the Late Models racing for $1000 to win each night.
Saturday night’s USCS Senoia Summer Nationals III racing format includes another full program of USCS presented by Goodyear outlaw sprint car racing action that will once again include test and tune hot laps followed by the Goodyear Speed Dash, qualifying heat races, Last Chance/B-Main race. The evening’s sprint car grand finale will be the 30-lap USCS Summer Nationals III Championship main event.
The Senoia Raceway Summer Nationals III Late Model Challenge event continues on Saturday night with round two. Saturday night’s action-packed racing card also includes another full racing program in the www.rockauto.com USCS 600 Sprint Car Series winged mini sprints plus the B-Cadet, Hobby, Mini Stock and Bomber weekly racing division each contest a full program of racing action.
Gates open on Friday night at 5:00 pm and racing action begins at 8:00 pm. On Saturday night things kickoff one hour earlier at 7:30 pm with grandstand gates opening at 5:00 pm again.
