TWO BIG NIGHTS OF MONSTER TRUCKS & RACING – Sunday Added by Popular Demand

POPULAR MONSTER TRUCK MANIA AT SENOIA RACEWAY EXPANDED TO A DOUBLE HEADER WEEKEND WITH SATURDAY AND SUNDAY NIGHT SCHEDULE

(Senoia, GA – August 2, 2020)  One of the most popular events on the Senoia Raceway schedule each year is Monster Truck Mania.  Annually planned for the first weekend of August to celebrate families and provide a late summer opportunity for kids to have some fun prior to the school year starting, the Monster Truck Mania presented by John Thornton Chevrolet features some of the most celebrated and recognizable trucks in the Monster Truck competition arena.

“We always look forward to this show each season,” said Mayes Massey who along with his father Bill and good friend Doug Stevens promote the 3/8ths mile speedway just west of Senoia, GA on state highway 16.  “It is always a full house with lots of kids, their families, friends and it has always been a great show.  Exciting.  Lots of smashing fun.  And sometimes, you cannot predict what may happen.”

Massey was referring to the night two years ago when during the fan favorite ‘Freestyle’ competition War Wizard launched high into the air and snagged the power line that stretched across the infield to power the lights illuminating the speedway.  The resulting shower of sparks and sudden darkness was greeted with a loud eruption of fan applause and only lights from competitor trailers, concession stands and personal cell phones remained.

“It was the night the lights went out in Georgia,” explained Massey with a huge smile.  “We were not going to be able to fix the problem, so we declared War Wizard the champion that year.  The place erupted with an even louder cheer than when it first happened.”

With the popularity of the Monster Truck Mania and the current situation with school, the pandemic fear and families looking for things to do together, the trio of promoters have contracted for an additional night of Monster Truck action.  Now families have the opportunity to see the show on Saturday and Sunday night this weekend (August 8 and 9).  There will be a full night of Monster Truck competition including ‘Freestyle’ on Saturday and then again on Sunday night.  The shows will also include stock car racing and side by side (RZR) racing on the 3/8ths mile track.

War Wizard will be back again this weekend along with the only other Monster Truck to win the Monster Truck Mania events at Senoia Raceway Gunslinger.  The two champions will have more competition than ever before as former Monster Jam ‘Freestyle’ Champion Overkill Evolution; multi-time Thunder Nationals Champion Black Stallion; the nation’s only Monster Truck School Bus Higher Education and a returning to action Iron Warrior will look to steal away the title.

Saturday night’s show will include racing competition in the Crate Late Models, Late Model Sportsman and Chargers.  There will also be Side by Sides (RZRs) racing on the speedway.  It will mark the first time the new style of racing will be part of the show at Senoia Raceway.  The night will conclude with a fireworks display.

Sunday night will feature the second night of competition for the Monster Trucks along with the Crate Late Models running.  The Crate Late Models will have a little extra money on the line for their second race in as many nights.

Grandstand tickets for Saturday or Sunday are $20; kids 5-12 are $10; four & under are free.  Tickets can be purchased at the gate and there is no charge for parking.  Pit Passes / Trackside Parking Passes are $30; kids 5-12 are $20 and four & under are free.

The gates will open at 4pm both days with the Autograph Pit Party starting at 6pm Saturday and 5:30pm on Sunday.  Saturday’s show begins at 7:30pm while Sunday’s will begin at 7pm.
