February 14, 2013 (Senoia, GA)  Senoia Raceway is gearing up for their fourth season under the leadership of Tim and Tony Moses as the promoting brothers will take a step back in time on Saturday, May 4th when the National Vintage Racing Association joins the Saturday night racing action at their 3/8ths mile clay oval.   The NVRA vintage race cars are restored originals that competed on tracks in the southeast in the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

“This will stir up some memories of when racing first began at Senoia Raceway in the late 60’s early 70’s,” said promoter Tim Moses.  “These old cars can really put on a show and we were able to finalize a deal for the drivers to bring their cars the first weekend of May.”

The NVRA features many different types of stock cars and modifieds from yesteryear.  Flathead and 6-cylinder powered cars from 1930 to 1957 comprise their Limited Sportsman division.  The NVRA Modified Sportsman division is made up of classic race cars from 1930 to 1954 which run OHV V-8 engines while the NVRA Late Model features vehicles from 1949 to 1968.  The fastest vintage division is the Modified Open which include the highly modified stock cars that competed in the late 1960’s through the mid 1970’s.

“NVRA officials think there could be a couple dozen or more different cars for this first appearance of the series since Tony and I reopened the track,” added Moses.

The 2013 Senoia Raceway season is scheduled to crank up with weekly racing on Saturday, March 31.  Weekly racing action will include the Late Models, B Cadets, Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bombers.  The Modified Mini division, Vintage Cars, Sprint Cars and Mini Sprints will also see action at the track this season.

Gate times and ticket prices will remain unchanged for the 2013 racing season.  Pit gates will open at 5pm.  Grandstand gates open at 6:30pm.  Hot Laps will begin at 7:30pm with racing set to go green at 8:00pm.

The track will host the 2nd Annual Senoia Raceway Swap & Shop on Saturday, March 9th.  The racer’s swap meet is open to any form of motorsport allowing anyone to buy, sell and trade auto racing equipment, car parts, vehicles and more.  Vendor spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis beginning at 8:00am.  Vendor spaces are $20.  The gates will open to the public at 9:00am.

Drivers will also have their first shot of the season to practice at the 3/8ths mile clay track following the Swap & Shop.  Moses will host the season’s first practice on the afternoon of Saturday, March 9th.  The cost is $20 for a pit pass or free to watch in the grandstand.
