WALKING DEAD ZOMBIES AND KIDS RIDES IN RACE CARS TO HIGHLIGHT SENOIA RACEWAY ENTERTAINMENT

(April 20, 2014 – Senoia, GA)  This past Saturday’s rain drenched all plans for racing at the 3/8ths mile clay bullring, but it has created a fervor like none seen in recent years for this weekend’s big racing card.  Senoia Raceway will host a Walking Dead Zombie Attack, Kid’s Rides in the Race Cars and a full stock car racing program on Saturday, April 26.

Fans of the AMC television program “The Walking Dead” can look forward to meeting several of the show’s Zombie characters, getting an autograph, photograph and reliving the show at Senoia Raceway on Saturday, April 26th.  The highly popular television series was filmed almost entirely in nearby Senoia, GA.

Zombie actors Chris Thompson, Michelle Flanagan-Helmeczy, Greg Crews, Mike Mundy, Melissa Cowan and Jordan Scott were are part of several episodes and the group of actors will be at the track signing autographs and meeting with fans throughout the night.  Fans are encouraged to dress in their favorite zombie outfits to win several prizes that will be offered.

“The Zombies are really looking forward to coming out to the track and being a part of the show,” said promoter Tim Moses.  “There are a couple of the actors that are fans of the speedway and love the racing action.  They came up with the idea of bringing back to life the Walking Dead zombies.  Pun intended!”

The very popular Kid’s Rides in the Race Cars also returns this Saturday.  Kids can hop on board with their favorite driver (and Zombie) and cruise a couple of laps around the high banks of Senoia Raceway.

“The rides give the kids an opportunity to feel the rumble of the race cars and see the track from a different perspective,” said Moses.  “I think the drivers like it just as much.  The kids will be that driver’s fan for a long time after getting a ride with them.”

The night would not be complete without action packed stock car racing excitement in the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Model, Newnan Bonding B Cadet, Senoia Drug Company Mini Stock, Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stock, A-1 Hydraulics Bomber and Modified Mini.  The racing has been very good so far this season with tight battles in all classes.

The pit gates will open at 5pm this Saturday.  Grandstand gates open at 6pm.  The drivers will take the track for hot laps beginning at 7:30pm with racing set to go green at 8pm.
