April 21, 2012 (Senoia, GA)  An early evening shower ended the racing action on Saturday night at Senoia Raceway.  Only preliminary heat races and qualifying were completed before an inch of rain washed out any chance of concluding a night of stock car racing.  Just as hundreds of young race fans had loaded up the races for the very popular Kids Rides in the Race Cars, rain drops began to fall on the 3/8ths mile clay race track.  Officials postponed the rides and cleared the track just in time for the heavy rain to begin.

“It was a bummer for the kids,” said track promoter Tim Moses.  “They were pretty excited, but the rain makes the track to slick for the cars.  They can come back for the next round of rides in the race cars.”

Ticket stubs and wristbands from Saturday night’s rained out event will be honored for admission to any remaining Saturday night event this season at Senoia Raceway.  The only event the tickets or wristbands will not be good for is the Sprint Car races in August.

Senoia Raceway will crank back up this Saturday, April 28th and offer a special deal for the ladies.  Saturday night is ‘Lucky Ladies Night’ and all women will be admitted into the grandstand for only $5.  The racing action will include a full slate of stock car racing in the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models, Newnan Bonding B Cadets, Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks and Bombers.

“It will be a cheap date night for the guys,” added Moses.

This Saturday, April 28th, the pit gates will open at 5pm.  Grandstand gates will open at 6pm.  Hot laps are at 7pm with the first green flag set to fly at 8pm.  Senoia Raceway offers affordable ticket prices to maintain a spot on the entertainment calendar for many families.  Ticket prices are $12 for adult grandstand admission (ladies only $5 this Saturday night).  $5 for children ages six through twelve.  Five and under are admitted for free.  There is no additional cost for the rides in the race cars.
