The wild and crazy Waterless Boat Race III is scheduled for this Saturday, July 27th at Senoia Raceway.  Promoter Tim Moses will turn the 3/8ths mile bullring into a caged arena for competitors tugging speed boats, paddle boats, jon boats, jet skis and other types of watercraft.  The winner will not be decided by who is pulling their boat the fastest or who has completed a specified number of laps first.  The title of Waterless Boat Race III champion will be determined by the last driver with his boat attached to his vehicle and still moving around the raceway.

“It will be total boat destruction,” said Moses.  “You actually try to knock your opponents boats from the car.  If you crash the boat, that is a good strategy.”

Currently there are a dozen entries for the competition and interest has been growing this week.

“We have a few extra boats (without drivers to pull them),” added Moses.  “We also have been receiving phone calls about what boats and vehicles are eligible.  It should be a fun and exciting event.”

No water, no trailers and no rules has been posted for this wide, open, caged, battle royale.  Although there are a few safety issues that will be required of the participants.

Also on the schedule for this Saturday, July 27th, is the make-up features for the Jodeco Auto Sales Late Models and Newnan Bonding B Cadets.  Last week’s rained out 30-lap, $1000 to win special for the Newnan Bonding B Cadets will feature the 19-cars qualified last weekend.  Those drivers along with the drivers qualified for last week’s late model main will be eligible to compete in two rounds of feature racing.

The Summit Racing Equipment Hobby Stocks, Mini Stocks, Bomber and Modified Mini will race heats and features.  The qualifying heats will run at 7:45pm with features set to begin at 8pm.

The pit gates open at 5pm.  Grandstands at 6pm.  Hot laps will roll off at 7:15pm with heat races at 7:45pm.  The make-up features (including the B Cadet special) begin at 8pm with Saturday night’s features to follow.  The Waterless Boat Race III will be the final event of the night.
